BG Developments prides itself in constantly increasing its range of products for the Historic vehicle market.

We have recently commissioned a new forging tool to accurately reproduce the period look of the road car versions of the 2 1/8" and 1 3/4" Dunlop Cylinders as used on the E-Type Jaguar and many other models of the period. These Dunlop Cylinders will fit on the Series 1 E-Type and Series 2 E-Type.

The new cylinders will be forged in Aerospace grade HE15 aluminium, and fitted with AP Racing seals and Stainless Steel pistons to ensure optimum performance and corrosion resistance. It simply bolts on in place of the old rusty cast iron part.

Below is shown the rendered image of the solid model which is being used to machine the forging die. It has been created by scanning an original item using a Romer arm with a Perceptron Laser (thanks to Simon Taylor at scanto3D.com), then the data points loaded into Solid Works to produce an extremely accurate re-creation.The internals are based on our proven Motorsport Dunlops of which we have made several hundred over the last 10 years.
